The first Massachusetts Green Career Conference strove to answer the timely question "What is my role in the new, green economy?" by showcasing experts and exhibitors who provided: green career guidance for jobseekers, a forum for stakeholders (government, businesses, colleges, individuals), current news from business & industry experts, and networking opportunities.

Kevin Doyle is the principal of Green Economy, an independent workforce development consulting and research firm serving green employers, educators, and policy-makers nationwide. He is the co-chair of the workforce development group at the New England Clean Energy Council. Kevin has been tracking and analyzing the world of "green jobs" for more than twenty years, and is the co-author of four popular green career guides, including The ECO Guide to Careers that Make a Difference: Environmental Work for a Sustainable World.

Green Event Features were:
- Breakfast items for this conference were purchased from a local Massachusetts bakery.
- Rainforest Coffee was Fair Trade, organic coffee.
- Dishware was reusable (glass, ceramic, metal), not disposable (paper, plastic).
- The estimated 2.7 tons of C02 created by this event from car travel and electricity use was offset by a donation to LiveCooler.org which will install energy efficient lighting in 5 low-income family homes in Massachusetts to save 2.7 tons of C02 and $1400 over five years.
